Descriptión and Activity in Bombonaje Camp

    DESCRIPTION

Down the Amazon River is located a remote and isolated Base Camp, it is in an area of primary tropical rain forest in an extensive reserve, where we can appreciate the high jungle, giant trees – the Ceiba tree and wildlife. We do different types of expeditions in this primary forest to admire the great biodiversity of medicinal plants, orchids, bromeliads, insects, butterflies, etc. We do expeditions by canoe on the lakes to go bird watching, fishing trips to catch the vicious piranha amongst other kinds of fish species. We can also admire the giant water lily, the “Victoria Regia” which is the biggest on earth. You will observe caimans and grey and pink fresh water dolphins in their natural habitat.

It is most definitely the right place for people who have an adventurous spirit and want to enjoy nature and its elements.
The camp is located 52 miles from Iquitos on the edge of the great Amazon River, sailing down the river approximately 2 hours by speed boat. The camp construction is rustic and you spend the nights in cabins with their own bathrooms, as well as the possibility of washing in the native style in the river illuminated by kerosene lamps. All the bedrooms, bathrooms, the dining room and hammock house are protected with mosquito screening.
